Cyberattack in the form of ransomware attack at Yamaha Corporation, a U. S musical instrument supplier took place on June 6, 2023. 

How did the cyberattack happen? 

Unauthorized access by unnatural fox 

The ransomware cyberattack was carried out by someone who got unauthorized access. 

Who is responsible? 

Hacker Hacking 

The bad actor was simply described as “someone” meaning no one or group has been identified. 

Where was the impact felt? 

Yamaha Corporation of America (YCA) is operating as usual and Japan corporation was not impacted. Business partners Information most probably might have been accessed. 

Steps taken to mitigate loss 

Incident Response-Log Analysis 

  • Investigations were carried out to identify the sort of cyberattack carried out though I have not identified the ransom demand.  
  • Yamaha Corporation of America (YCA) took steps at the initial stage to shut down network equipment to prevent more damage. This is in no way representing that the hackers did not gain access to any information. 
  • Yamaha Corporation of America (YCA) will continue to investigate the incident, impact on business performance and strengthen security to prevent this sort of cyberattack from happening again.
